Robin sier følgende om sitt verk: Aaberg's work, "Light in the Darkness" for solo accordion and light, is a programmatic work focusing on the experience of how in dark times we can still feel hope. The piece will be performed in a completely dark room where light gradually takes over from the darkness. Lighting design is its own independent voice, and follows the dramaturgical development of the piece. In many ways it can be seen as a kind of duo. The work will utilize the accordion's enormous sound potential and dynamic flexibility, and the possibility of great variation in sound textures. The goal of the piece is to create a space for conversation through music, by attempting to acknowledge emotions experienced in the face of the conflicts that characterize today's society. The central theme of the piece is survival, both as an individual but also as a culture and people.
